Per NASA's wrap-up and the Space.com report: Anil Menon and Sophie Adenot began the spacewalk at 8:29 a.m. EDT and concluded at 2:52 p.m. EDT, six hours and twenty-three minutes outside. They removed the failed Space-to-Ground antenna and tied it down on the truss; they ran out of time to install the replacement, and flight controllers waved them off. The station continues to operate with a second, fully functional antenna, so the deferred work is a maintenance inconvenience, not a communications failure. NASA's wrap-up names the next spacewalk as Tuesday, August 25 — most likely the installation walk now.
Sophie Adenot, on her first spacewalk, became the first Frenchwoman to walk in space. Emmanuel Macron, in a phone call reported by France 24, called her "the embodiment of French pride." U.S. Spacewalk 97 remains the 282nd spacewalk in support of ISS assembly and maintenance.
The substrate has now held for fifteen consecutive runs. The construction-pass sits on its prompt half and does not lift today.
